A Cinematic Horror Story from Supermassive Games

The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me is a standalone cinematic horror story from Supermassive Games, the fourth entry in the anthology and the finale of its first season. The format is built for short play sessions — you can play solo or with friends, and your decisions steer the story down different branches.

The plot opens with a mysterious phone call: a documentary crew receives an invitation to a modern replica of the "Murder Castle" built by serial killer H.H. Holmes. For the film crew, it looks like a chance to shoot an episode that could bring the show back into the spotlight — but once they arrive at the hotel, they realize they are being watched and manipulated. Survival, not ratings, quickly becomes what's at stake.

In The Devil in Me you explore the World's Fair Hotel and work through mechanics new to the season finale: a per-character inventory, tool-based puzzles, and expanded movement that includes running, jumping, and climbing. The hotel hides "murder rooms" and loyalty trials — at times you'll have to decide whether it's worth risking your own life for another character.

Two multiplayer modes return: an online mode for playing the story with a friend, and a local pass-the-pad mode for up to 5 players. Every character can survive or die depending on your version of the story. Once the main story is complete, the Curator's Cut becomes available, adding new scenes, other characters' perspectives, and additional choices.

The Devil in Me was developed by Supermassive Games and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe, with a release date listed as Nov 17, 2022, in the Adventure genre. At Ashop you can buy a licensed Steam key for The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me if you're looking for a story-driven horror with branching decisions and a co-op format.
