What is Space Hulk: Tactics
Space Hulk: Tactics is a turn-based strategy game by Cyanide Studio (published by Focus Entertainment), released on October 9, 2018. It's a digital adaptation of the cult board game Space Hulk, set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Expect tense tactical battles in the cramped corridors of derelict space hulks — a grim setting where squads of Space Marines clash with deadly Genestealers.
Two Sides of the Conflict
The game offers two standalone campaigns, each with its own mechanics and playstyle:
- Blood Angels — lead an elite Space Marine squad that can be customized and upgraded as you progress.
- Genestealers — for the first time in the Space Hulk series, take control of a xenos swarm. It's a completely different approach to combat, built around numbers and speed.
A Card System Layered on the Classic Rules
Combat is based on the rules of the original board game, enhanced with a signature card system. Cards let you adjust your squad's composition and deploy powerful abilities at the right moment, adding a layer of tactical depth the original rules didn't have. Playing your cards well often decides the outcome of the toughest missions.
Multiplayer: Face Real Opponents
Beyond the single-player campaigns, Space Hulk: Tactics offers a full online mode. Test your tactical skills in duels against other players, where one commands the Space Marines and the other the Genestealers.
