Skautfold: Usurper – Face the Horrors of London!
Usurper is the sequel to Shrouded in Sanity, though familiarity with the first game isn't required. In this thrilling Metroidvania-style action RPG, you'll encounter incredible adventures and dangers in an alternate 1898 London.
After the mysterious Citadel invades the city, London becomes overrun with Eldritch horrors. Your task is to restore peace using the new "Guard" system. It rewards skill and precision: when attacked, you lose "guard points" instead of immediate health damage. By cleverly dodging attacks, you can even convert some damage into "guard points," turning the tide of battle in your favor.
Gameplay
The combat system in Usurper emphasizes risk and skill: the more precise you are, the better your chances of overcoming enemies. The game's structurally diverse world offers eight different stats to upgrade and a wealth of equipment options—over 90 weapons and spells, including swords, axes, bows, and more. You can craft unique character builds and uncover hidden secrets across vast locations.
Locations range from human cities to alien landscapes, from grand libraries to ephemeral gardens. Players can activate special difficulty modes, such as no-guard or permadeath, and explore additional areas while battling optional bosses.
Story
Usurper transports you to an alternate reality of London, where the crowned Eleanor has gathered her loyal knights, hoping to confront the horrors of the Citadel. They must figure out how to rid the world of this evil before everything descends into chaos.
