The story centers on Aya and Saki, two sisters bound by hatred and drawn into a brutal fight to the death. Aya was raised by her father and trained rigorously in the art of the blade. Saki was raised by her mother and came to hate her father for taking her sister away from her. When Aya's father disappears, she becomes a hunter of the Undead, while Saki, after her mother is killed, is consumed by a thirst for revenge.

The action unfolds in Tokyo in 20XX, a city turned into a dystopian wasteland overrun by the living dead. Saki seeks to resurrect her mother through an ancient art, but the ritual requires the heart of a blood relative. What begins as a personal tragedy becomes a story of love, hatred, intrigue, and a battle between two sisters.
