About the game
Murder by Numbers is a mystery adventure that mixes nonogram-style picross puzzles with detective storytelling. Set in Los Angeles in 1996, it follows Honor Mizrahi, an actress on a hit TV crime show who suddenly finds herself out of a job and tangled up in a real murder case.
You solve picross puzzles to uncover clues at each crime scene, then question a colorful cast of suspects to piece together what really happened. Your partner is SCOUT, a damaged little robot you reactivate, and together you make an unlikely but sharp investigative duo.
The story moves through film sets, glamorous award ceremonies, and stylish clubs, all wrapped in a distinct 90s atmosphere and a soundtrack by composer Masakazu Sugimori. Witty dialogue and a memorable supporting cast keep the mood light even as the mystery deepens.
