What is Growtopia
Growtopia is a free 2D sandbox game with MMO elements. The original version launched in 2013 on mobile platforms, and the PC version arrived on Steam later, in 2017. The publisher is Ubisoft. The project is currently maintained by Ubisoft Abu Dhabi, though the game was created by independent developers at Robinson Technologies (Seth Robinson); Ubisoft joined the project later.
The gameplay is built around collaborative creation. A massive pixel world brings together millions of players, where you can build structures, explore other players' creations, take part in mini-games, and craft your own spaces pixel by pixel. Build a castle, set up a shelter, or simply join worlds already created by others.
In spirit, the game blends adventure, a building simulator, and casual multiplayer, making it approachable and engaging for a broad audience. Growtopia is distributed for free, so a Steam key lets you add it to your library and launch it without any additional purchases.
