What Is GRIME II?
GRIME II is the sequel to the dark metroidvania action-adventure developed by Clover Bite. A direct continuation of the original 2021 GRIME, it expands the series' signature formula of challenging combat, exploration through an intricate world, and surreal visual design.
You play as a black hole-born entity that consumes everything in its path. Absorption lies at the heart of the combat system: by consuming attacks and enemies at the right moment, you can defend yourself, grow stronger, and unlock new abilities. Precise timing turns defense into offense and rewards an aggressive, deliberate playstyle.
World and Gameplay
The story unfolds across new lands in the GRIME universe, a surreal world where art is intertwined with danger. This realm is home to strange creatures, unfamiliar cultures, and distinctive characters. You will face enormous, deadly bosses and explore nonlinear areas connected in the tradition of classic metroidvanias.
You shape your own approach to the game. By combining abilities, different weapon types, and upgrades, you can create custom builds and tactics for enemies with different vulnerabilities. As you gradually unlock new skills, you can return to previously explored areas and discover paths that were once inaccessible.
