Player Tag and Supercell ID — what's the difference?

Player Tag (#XXXXXXXXX) is a public identifier for clan searches. It’s NOT used for top-ups. Supercell ID is the email account linked to your progress. This is what’s needed for top-ups via Ashop. To find it: Settings (gear icon) → Supercell ID.

What is Hero Equipment in TH17 — the system competitors don't explain

Since 2024, Clash of Clans has introduced the Hero Equipment system. This is one of the most significant meta-game changes in recent years — and almost none of the top-up services describe it.

How Hero Equipment works:

Each hero now equips up to 2 items — Common or Epic. Items are upgraded in the Blacksmith using a special resource — Ore. Ore is obtained through Clan Games, seasonal events, and Gold Pass — it cannot be bought with gems.

What Hero Equipment changes: Not just stats, but heroes' abilities. For example, Healer Puppet (Archer Queen) summons Healers when Royal Cloak is activated. Eternal Tome (Grand Warden) grants invincibility to nearby troops for a few seconds — this changes raid tactics entirely.

Why this matters for buyers: Gold Pass provides Ore as part of its rewards — indirectly helping with equipment progression. This is an additional reason to get the Gold Pass even for TH17 players who no longer care about seasonal skins: Ore is constantly needed.

As of 2025–2026, TH17 with Minion Prince and Hero Equipment is the current meta. Supercell regularly releases updates, so keep an eye on their official blog for the latest details.

Player Tag and Supercell ID — what's the difference?

One of the most common misunderstandings among beginners — we explain it separately because it affects the success of top-ups.

Player Tag — a public identifier like #XXXXXXXXX (letters and numbers). Displayed in the player profile, used for clan searches and trophy systems. This is NOT what’s needed for top-ups.

Supercell ID — the email account linked to your progress. Created in Clash of Clans under Settings → Supercell ID. One Supercell ID can link multiple Supercell games to one account.

For top-ups via Ashop, you need your Supercell ID email, not the Player Tag. If you haven't linked a Supercell ID to your game, do so in CoC settings before placing an order. It takes less than a minute.

How to find your Supercell ID email in CoC: Open Clash of Clans → tap the 'Settings' (gear icon) → Supercell ID section → your account email is displayed there.

How to top up Clash of Clans via Supercell ID — step by step

The flow is identical to Brawl Stars and other Supercell games. No password is requested at any stage.

1. Choose a diamond package or Gold Pass in the Ashop catalog
2. Pay via your preferred method (MIR card, SBP, crypto)
3. On the order page, enter your Supercell ID email
4. Check your email — you’ll receive a 6-digit confirmation code from noreply@id.supercell.com

Security — why sharing the confirmation code is safe

The Supercell ID confirmation code is single-use. Here’s what this means in practice:

• The code is generated on Supercell’s server and sent to your email
• The operator uses it once to log into your account
• The purchase is made through Supercell’s official store — a real transaction
• After the purchase, the session is closed, and the code becomes invalid
• The next login requires a new code

Without your password, the operator cannot:

• Change your Supercell ID email (requires confirmation of the current email)
• Change your account password (requires the password)
• Permanently link a device (the session ends after logging out)

This fundamentally differentiates Supercell ID flow from schemes requiring login and password. Your account returns to its original security state after purchase via Ashop. If desired — change your password after the purchase, though it’s technically unnecessary.

Why Supercell isn't available for payment from Russia

Supercell exited the Russian market in March 2022. Since then, Google Play and App Store have not accepted Russian cards for in-game purchases in Supercell games. The Supercell Store exists in Russian, but ruble cards don’t work there either.

For Russian players, there are a few options: foreign cards (Turkey, Kazakhstan, UAE — unavailable to most), VPN with a foreign account (complex, risky for the account), or intermediary services.

Spending priorities — how to develop your base efficiently

Clash of Clans is a long-term game. The right choice of what to spend gems on is felt months later. Below is the priority list the CoC community considers optimal.

Additional Builders (Builder Hut) — the top priority for beginners and players up to TH12. Each additional builder dramatically speeds up base development: if one builder upgrades a wall, another upgrades a cannon. Four builders work in parallel — four upgrades simultaneously.

Gold Pass — the next priority after builders. The permanent +20% building and research speed boost lasts the entire month, plus Magic Items as rewards for Season Points. At TH15–17, where a single upgrade takes 10–18 days, this boost saves real time.

Magic Items (Books and Hammers) — a strategic tool for high TH levels. Book of Heroes instantly completes any hero’s upgrade — indispensable before Clan Wars or CWL when a hero is upgrading and unavailable for battle. Hammer of Heroes does the same but without spending resources (Dark Elixir).

Potions (Builder Potion, Research Potion) — provide a quick boost for ~10 and ~23 hours respectively. Useful for intensive play: activate a potion overnight, and the building is upgraded in the morning.

Resources for gems (gold, elixir, dark elixir) — the least profitable way to spend gems. The exchange rate is unfavorable; the same resources can be obtained through attacks. This method is only justified in emergencies.
