Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare

Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare is a survival horror game and a sequel to the original survival horror series. It was released on May 18, 2001, and blends the Action and Adventure genres.

Detective Edward Carnby's best friend, Charles Fiske, is found dead near the mysterious Shadow Island off the coast of Maine. The investigation quickly leads Carnby to Fred Johnson, who tells him about the search for three ancient tablets: when placed in the right spot, they unleash an incredible and dangerous power. Carnby takes up Fiske's case to find the killer and avenge his friend's death.

On the island, Edward Carnby and Aline Cedrac are stalked by mysterious malevolent creatures that stand in the way of reaching the tablets. Danger lurks around every corner: behind the slightest shadow may hide dark secrets or even more terrifying nightmares. Armed with a flashlight and a pistol, the hero must gather survival items and clues to make it out of the ultimate nightmare alive.
