Dirty Bomb is a free-to-play first-person shooter from Splash Damage, set in a wrecked London. Learn about its mercenaries, modes and current status before you play.
Dirty Bomb, from the team at Splash Damage, is a free-to-play first-person shooter that leans into the genre's competitive roots. It rewards quick thinking, sharp aim and tight teamwork over raw firepower alone.
The game is set in a near-future London devastated by a dirty bomb attack. With the city in ruins, you step into the boots of hired mercenaries operating amid the chaos, each chasing their own payday.
Dirty Bomb features more than 20 distinct mercenaries, each with unique loadouts and special abilities. You can adapt your playstyle by picking the right merc for the job, whether you're pushing the objective in Objective mode or trading runs against the clock in Stopwatch.
Progression is built around the in-game currency Credits, which let you unlock mercenaries and gear through play rather than mandatory spending, so skill and coordination carry more weight than your wallet.
Important: Dirty Bomb is free to play and was never sold as a paid Steam key, so there is nothing to buy to own the game. It's also worth knowing that the official servers were taken offline in 2021, which means the multiplayer experience is no longer available.
